iOS devices will certainly get these new features while the new iPhone and iPad are surely going to sport iOS 4.3 (and beyond) right out of the box.
In what follows we’re going to briefly look at all these new iOS features :
- Mobile / Personal Hotspot
The Verizon iPhone 4 comes with a native tethering option which lets CDMA iPhone owners use the phone as a Mobile Hotspot for up to 5 Wi-Fi devices. That feature was confirmed on stage and unveiled in this week’s Verizon iPhone 4 hands-on previews.
- Screen Lock / Mute Switch Choice
In fact iPad owners will be able to choose whether to use the button as a screen lock or mute switch depending on their current needs.
- New Multitouch Gestures for iPad
the iPad is about to support new gestures in the near future which will make it even more user friendly.
- AirPlay for Third Party Apps
Third party apps will get AirPlay support, which is something various customers asked for, but you’ll still have to wait for iOS 4.3 to come out.
- New FaceTime Icon
FaceTime, Apple’s own video calling application, will get a new icon, which is not such an important iOS addition.
- iAd Full Screen Banners
Apple will keep pursuing its mobile advertising business and it looks like users will soon get iAd full screen banners, which will be available once iOS 4.3 rolls out.
- New Camera Effects & iPad 2 Camera Capabilities
iOS 4.3 will bring you various camera effects such as Thermal Camera, X-ray, Kaleidoscope, Normal, Tunnel of Light, Collapse, Turbine or Enlarge.
- New Font for iPad Notes
iOS 4.3 will come with a new font for your iPad notes, which is probably still not enough to match your font needs but still better than nothing.
- New Alerts
iOS 4.3 will let you play alerts up to 10 times but do you really need 10 alerts to go off in order for you to perform a certain action?
- Find My Friends Feature
People digging inside iOS 4.3 found a bunch of new features including this Find My Friends thing.
- No iPhone 3G & iPod touch 2G Support
